Marsh View at Pawleys Island is an impasto oil painting on canvas and is unframed. This painting is one of a series of paintings I did of the beautiful Pawleys Island beach resort in South Carolina.

This painting is from a photo I took at dusk of the marsh looking down through the gazebo landings that occur at various points. I especially liked the cloud formations that happened at this particular evening moment.  

The light caused the wooden structures to take on a orange glow. The paint on this painting was applied in a series of layers and the surface is a complicated system of small and large elevated brushstrokes.  This is a low-level impasto painting and is colorful and peaceful.
