Natural Rhythm is an exuberant, expressive look at the flow of colors in wildflowers. The colors are like musical notes. My husband, Clyde Kessler, is a well-known naturalist in the New River Valley and he has taught me a lot about nature, especially about various bird and butterfly species.
I love to work with complicated patterns of texture and color and I see these patterns in natural surroundings that inspire me to paint them. I am especially drawn to intense red/green combinations.
Years ago at a competition when May Stevens was introduced to me she said, "Oh, the red green painter!" I love to work with vibrant complementary colors but I tend to work with red and green more than the others.
Natural Rhythm is a 40" x 30" impasto oil painting on hardboard in a silver colored metal frame.
The painting can be taken out of the frame if professional framing is desired.
