Sunset on the New River is a small, vibrant view of the sun reflecting in the New River by Radford City.  I am very pleased with the spontaneity and intense brushwork in my small paintings.  The scale allows me to cover the surface in many layers and change direction quickly.  

This painting has an extremely complicated surface and soft color contrast. I pass by this site many times a day and love to watch the changing colors in this sky.  

I have many fond memories of walking the trails around the river and wading in it with my husband and son.  I will always love this view. The painting is in a silver colored metal frame.
