Why was his check better than mine?

Last night my son was checking out stuff on Facebook when the site clicked off.

I had unplugged my boom box, yes I still have one of those, to the long electrical outlet a while before he got on the computer.

I figured I had jarred some of the plugs loose. I checked them all and they seemed fine.

This morning my hubby checked them and they were a little loose and the internet went right back on.

Why did his check work and mine did not? My mystery for today.
